Groundbreaking for Centre for Jewish Life and Learning
Kinetic Construction is very proud to be part of the next step for the ever growing Jewish Community on Vancouver Island.
On August 23rd, after many months of planning, the ground was broken in preparation for the Centre for Jewish Life and Learning. There was also a cornerstone laid down to mark this important time for the 4,000 Jewish people who live in Victoria.
Previously, the Chabad of Vancouver Island operated out of a small building that was a part of Quadra Elementary School. Now they will have their own space which will comprise of a community hall, library, Hebrew school and a daycare centre. The two-story building will also include a commercial kitchen, sanctuary and a Mikvah, which is a traditional holy bath. The new cultural center will be completed in 2016.
For the Centre, Kinetic provided complete construction management services, with pre-construction estimates and budgets, as well as constructability and value engineering reviews.
We’re excited to help bring the vision of a centre for the Jewish community a reality.
