This phase focused on the 3rd floor of Buchanan Tower, where various architectural, mechanical and electrical work was performed.
The existing floor space was selectively demolished back to structure, except for the existing office partitions along the North and South corridors. New mechanical and electrical systems were installed including new fan coil units, fire suppression systems, plumbing systems for two new kitchenette’s and a new fully accessible washroom, along with upgraded lighting, IT infrastructure and a fire alarm system. These systems not only upgraded the life safety systems of the floor, but they also addressed system efficiency and the occupant comfort.
Architectural upgrades included new partitions, interior glass storefront, flooring, fresh paint, doors, and the two new kitchenette’s provided for an updated space for users. A new wood slat ceiling was installed in the entry corridor from the elevator. The project scope also included removal and replacement of the existing exterior curtainwall windows.
