  • Project Coordinator

    With over 30 years’ success, Kinetic Construction continues to grow, and we would like to welcome an experienced Project Coordinator to our team in our Vancouver Branch office to support a growing volume of work underway.

    Project Coordinators at Kinetic are right in the middle of all the action, helping bring our organization’s vision of “Together Building Better” to life as they work with virtually all stakeholders on a project.  Working in conjunction with the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator interacts with Site Superintendents, Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers, and our Clients throughout the project’s lifetime.

    This role requires a keen eye for detail, and an acute ability to recognize risks and opportunities inherent to a project, further analyzing them, determining associated costs and other impacts, such as scheduling considerations, and creating plans to accommodate to keep the project on track.  Some common responsibilities in the role include:

    • Assisting Project Managers & Superintendents to ensure that deliveries of critical elements are expedited and coordinated
    • Processing subcontracts and purchase orders, as well as Prime and Subcontract progress claims
    • Preparing site binders and related site documentation, including administering the Shop Drawing process
    • Assisting in developing and implementing project Health, Safety, & Environment and Quality plans
    • Performing routine site visits and attending site meetings as requested by Project Manager, documenting and distributing associated meeting minutes
    • Processing Contemplated Change Notices and distributing appropriately for pricing

    • Completion of Construction Management Diploma at BCIT or similar education

    Kinetic Construction Ltd has an opportunity within our Vancouver branch to bring an experienced Superintendent on board to provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to all site employees while effectively managing the project and sub-trades and liaising with the client.

    Working collaboratively with a Project Manager, our Superintendents are responsible for:

    • Preparing, monitoring, managing and updating construction schedules, ensuring all stakeholders are taken into consideration
    • Regularly reviewing specifications and drawings, including shop drawings, and ensuring red-line drawings are updated throughout the project
    • Estimating and managing project labour requirements, including recruiting and managing performance of foremen and crew
    • Coordinating subcontractor work and ensuring details are completed as defined in scopes of work
    • Establishing, implementing and overseeing site safety plans and quality control measures, including site inspections and site security

    Our successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising and leading projects, excellent communication skills, a passion for construction, and experience on a variety of Commercial and Institutional projects.

    Working collaboratively with the Site team, our Carpenters are responsible for:

    • Following the direction of the Site Superintendent and Foreman to ensure work is completed effectively and efficiently
    • Contributing to building quality projects on time and on schedule

    Successful candidates will have:

    • experience with Building Envelope and Hardie siding
    • Journeyperson’s ticket or actively working through Apprenticeship in Carpentry

    Kinetic Construction Ltd. is looking for an OFA Level 2 / Skilled Labourer for our team in the Greater Vancouver area. This position requires working on construction project sites assisting the Superintendent and Skilled Tradespersons while also performing labouring activities and fulfilling First Aid and Safety requirements. In this role, no day is the same!  It’s a fast-paced industry and there is a positive energy in the business. 

    Labouring duties include performing tasks involved in:

    • the physical labour of building a project
    • operating hand and power tools of a large variety as necessary
    • site preparation and clean-up

    First Aid/Safety responsibilities include:

    • Daily safety site inspections
    • Weekly/monthly reporting
    • Providing site safety orientations for all visitors to site
    • Attending to any injuries on site and providing appropriate treatment
    • Reporting any injuries, near misses or hazards on site

    Our ideal candidate has the following skills and experience to bring to our team:

    • 3 years’ experience on construction sites
    • Familiarity with building construction processes and using a variety of hand and power tools
    • Current OFA2 Certification
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills
    • Positive, can-do attitude
    • Natural willingness to pitch in and do what’s needed to help get the job done
    • Physical capability to safely perform the work on site (i.e., lifting, carrying, standing, walking, kneeling, etc)
