    Interior and Exterior Renovations, as part of the Destination 2012 program, to update stores to new design standards, including incorporation of new service counters with McCafe Stations, and exterior building envelope finishes. Works are typically completed in phases, to allow the Restaurant to remain operational at all times. Project durations are very tight, to minimize partial closure impacts to restaurant operations.Locations:

  • Horseshoe Bay Terminal Overhead Walkway, West Vancouver, BCLast Updated On: 11/4/2011

    Construction of an elevated walkway for BC Ferries customers to safely cross over vehicle exit lanes in order to access Horseshoe Bay Village. The walkway is constructed of structural steel and spans between a new concrete stair and elevator structure and an existing passenger walkway.The concrete structures were constructed within a very confined site space, between ferry vehicle holding and exit lanes. The walkway structures were fabricated off site and lifted into place after hours, to prevent disruption to the fully operation terminal. The project was fast-tracked in order for completion and use by BC Ferries customers prior to the busy summer travel season.

    Seismic Upgrade, Renovations, and Addition to Passenger Terminal. Work includes seismic upgrading to existing 3 storey Passenger Terminal Building, addition to Lounge at loading level, new fixed walkways and refurbishment of existing moveable walkways to Berths 3 & 4.

    New Concrete Foundation and Structural Steel Sign Structure, for outfield electronic scoreboard and signage. Installation of new concrete foundations and shop finished structural steel support structure. Project was fast-tracked to allow scoreboard to be ready for Vancouver Canadians baseball game.

    New Temporary and Legacy Accessible Viewing Platforms, as required for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games. Installation and Post Olympic Games removal of temporary platforms, shop built in a modular fashion, for platforms to be removed and reinstalled as needed. Complete permanent “Legacy” platforms, built from structural steel frames with millwork panel finishes. All works completed in an occupied and functioning building, with complex scheduling required, to allow the Coliseum to continue with its normal operations of concerts, and the Short Track Speed Skating qualifying event.

    Construction of five new buildings and refurbishment of two existing buildings at United Church Summer Camp. Project consists of new Dining Hall with commercial kitchen, Manager’s Residence, Group Residence, Workshop & Generator Building, and extensive renovations to Jubilee Hall and Craigcroft Residence buildings. Because of its remote location new electrical generation and distribution systems, water distribution system, and sewerage systems were also constructed.

    Acting initially as Project Managers, we were responsible for hiring and managing of the Design Team, in conjunction with the Corporate Pinkberry Standards. After completion of subcontractor tenders, project was converted into a Lump Sum agreement with the independent licensee. This will be the first Pinkberry store in Canada.

  • Queensborough Community Centre RenovationLast Updated On: 11/30/2011

    A new 13,000 SF two storey addition to an existing community centre, interior renovations and modernization, as well as a complete building envelope remediation to the existing buildings exterior. New Addition is of wood frame heavy timber construction, with extensive use of Glu-laminated Timbers and exposed Fir Decking. Existing building will undergo interior modernization, as well as a complete building envelope remediation, involving replacement of extensive rot and replacement of exterior cedar siding, roofing and skylights. As works are being completed within and around a fully occupied facility, careful planning and phasing of the works is required. Project is targeting LEED Gold.

  • Pinkberry – Metropolis at MetrotownLast Updated On: 1/5/2012

    The design process was fast tracked, to allow the Construction program to be completed and the store to open for operations for the busy mall Holiday Season. The entire design, permitting, tendering and construction was completed in 16 weeks.
