Blue Grouse Winery

Construction is now underway at Blue Grouse Winery in the Cowichan Valley. The end result will be a modernized winery and tasting room, with architectural design inspired by the winery’s namesake bird.

Kinetic is acting as the general contractor, with construction well underway. The roofline will echo the curve of a grouse’s head and neck, the mezzanine structure takes the shape of its belly, and the stone and wood finishes reflect the palette of the bird’s feathers. The architect is Joe Chauncey of Boxwood, an experienced architect with many winery projects in his portfolio.

Blue Grouse is a family-owned and operated vineyard and winery established in 1923 as one of the founding estate wineries of Vancouver Island. Their tasting room in the Cowichan Valley is open daily during the summer from 11.00am to 5.00pm.
